SonicWALL LDAP Authentication with Active Directory

In this video you will learn how to integrate LDAP/Active Directory with your SonicWALL firewall; you will setup the SonicWALL firewall to use the LDAP protocol to query your Active Directory domain for user and group authentication.
On the SonicWALL firewall, users are authenticated and authorized to access various resources; such users can be IPsec VPN users, SSL VPN users or users needing Internet access.

With LDAP and Active Directory you are able to use a centralized authentication database. There is no need to create and manage local users and groups on your SonicWALL firewall. Instead you can manage user accounts using Active Directory.

With LDAP/Active Directory you will be able to:

  • Leverage existing Active Directory infrastructure.
  • Simplify user management.
  • Increase security; ineffective user and privilege management can cause many security issues.
