Episode 25: Compliance, HIPAA, & More
Compliance is a central piece of the cybersecurity puzzle for organizations large and small. And in the U.S., perhaps the best known rule that applies to many is HIPAA. Short for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, compliance with these security rules is vital for those affected. To learn more about HIPAA, we welcome two experts on the subject, and on podcasting. Help Me With HIPAA podcast hosts Donna Grindle and David Sims join us on Episode 25 of Ping. We get a HIPAA overview, learn why it’s important for organizations to do more than check a box, and bust some myths about when the rules do and don’t apply. Plus, we talk about compliance challenges during the pandemic and about the podcast, which comes out every Friday.
Then it’s onto headlines. We discuss a Cloudflare outage that stopped a chunk of the Internet, a Twitter hack affecting top accounts, and a potential ransomware attack that threw Garmin off course.
