The M690 is designed for enterprise headquarters and large distributed organizations that need high throughput and a large VPN capacity. With 29.7 Gbps firewall throughput, 4.6 Gbps UTM throughput, 15,000,000 concurrent connections, and 1,000 BOVPN tunnels, it serves as the security hub for organizations with many remote sites.

The M690 includes two built-in 10 Gbps SFP+ fiber ports and two 10 Gbps multispeed copper ports, alongside eight 1 Gbps RJ45 ports. An additional expansion bay can accept 4x1G copper, 4x SFP, 2x SFP+, or 4x 10G multispeed modules for even greater port density.

Yes. The M690 ships with dual redundant power supplies as standard. Both are hot-swap capable, meaning a failed supply can be replaced while the appliance continues to run, which is essential for enterprise hub deployments where availability is critical.

The M690 delivers 2.9 Gbps HTTPS inspection throughput with IPS enabled, sufficient for large enterprise networks where a significant portion of traffic is encrypted. TLS decryption and re-encryption is handled inline without an external appliance.

The M695 is WatchGuard's next-generation replacement for the M690. The M695 delivers 45 Gbps firewall throughput, 10.2 Gbps UTM throughput, 30,000,000 concurrent connections, and 2,000 BOVPN tunnels, with built-in multi-gig ports (12x2.5G, 2x10G, 4x1G SFP, 4x10G SFP+) that the M690 does not match.
