N-Type connectors are more robust and weather-resistant than SMA connectors, making them better suited to outdoor and high-power antenna installations. The AP430CR is designed for demanding environments where connector durability directly affects long-term reliability.

The AP430CR accepts N-Type antennas rated for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. You can use WatchGuard's dual-band omnidirectional antennas or third-party omnidirectional and directional antennas, depending on your deployment. Our team can help identify the right antennas for your site layout, coverage shape, and environmental conditions.

Both are IP67-rated access points for outdoor and rugged sites. The AP430CR has a 4x4 5 GHz radio versus the AP332CR's 2x2, roughly doubling peak 5 GHz data rates, plus a dedicated scanning radio. It uses 6 N-Type antenna connectors with antennas sold separately, while the AP332CR ships with 4 SMA antennas included.

No. Antennas for the AP430CR are sold separately, and it needs six to run at full range: two for each radio band and two for the scanning radio. WatchGuard's omnidirectional antennas come in packs of two, so a full set is three packs. Our team can help you select and source the right antennas for your deployment.

Yes. The AP430CR is one of WatchGuard's highest-capacity outdoor-capable access points, combining a 4x4 5 GHz radio with an IP67-rated enclosure and flexible external antenna options. Contact our team to discuss AP placement, antenna selection, and channel planning for your specific site.
