Job Description
Since 1999 Firewalls.com Inc. has been a leading eCommerce company providing Internet security products and services for small to enterprise customers. We have a full-time position available in the Indianapolis area for a Network Engineer 1 to serve our business and expanding client base needs. Our Professional Services team is looking for a qualified 1st shift candidate who is passionate about networking and network security, who is customer service oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment..
Qualifications
- IP Networking: 2 Years Required
- Associate Degree Preferred
- Routing Protocols : 1 Year Preferred
- IT Support: 2 Years Preferred
- CCNA Preferred
Requirements
- Basic understanding of IT networking
- General understanding of how the Internet works (e.g. routing, NAT, DNS, subnets, IP Addressing, WiFi, VPN…)
- Network+ or Security+ certifications required, CCNA certification a plus
- Experience with wireless, switches, routers and firewalls
- Strong verbal & writing communication skills to resolve problems with users & clients
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to be self-directed
- Ability to pick up & learn new IT equipment & software quickly
Responsibilities
- Monitors & responds to inbound service requests through Service Desk Ticketing system
- Remotely installing, maintaining, repairing & upgrading network equipment / systems primarily related to firewalls
- Remotely diagnosing & fixing problems or potential problems with the network & its hardware, software & systems
- Respond to gateway & security alerts
- Assist Professional Services Team with firewall analysis & recommendations as well as deployments
- Obtain technical certifications from IT vendors
- Be the intermediary between customers & the escalations team
- Maintain a M-F first shift position

- Competitive salary: $38,000.00 - $41,000.00 per year
